- 1945年:电信局一般坐落在邮政总局内,少数地区例外。Most telegraph offices are in post offices, (FIGURE VII - 51) but 175 were for the exclusive use of telegraph and telephone. View of General Post Office Building, Nandaimon Dori and Hasegawa Cho. Telephone and telegraph offices were also in this building. In 1935, there was a large telephone exchange in the rear of this post office. 1920 All telegraph installations are of Japanese make, and in 1935 about 25 "automatic typing machines" were in operation. In cities and towns with telegraph facilities, telegrams are delivered by messengers. Elsewhere they are delivered by mail. [1]

This map presents very complete and detailed data on Korea's postal and telecommunications' system as organized and operated under the /Japanese/ Government-General of Chosen. It appears to be the best available map of its type. A great variety of symbols are used to identify the various classes of post and telegraph offices, administrative centers, telephone offices, routes for carrying mail (distance between stations given), mail relay points and mail exchange points. Province boundaries and main streams are located. Insets show air-mail routes and the layout of the postal and telecommunications systems in Kyöngsöng and Pusan. More recent maps of similar scope may become available in the near future. Reference copies are available in the Map Branch, CIA and in the Map Library, Army Map Service. p.156

- Effective January 1950, Inmin, the official monthly publication of the People's Republic, will be distributed only to prepaid subscribers. The subscribers must pay in advance the fee of 40 won per issue. Due to limited issuance, the subscribers are asked to apply for subscriptions immediately at the following addresses:
- In P'yongyang: Distribution Department, Central Newspaper Dispatch, Bureau of Publication Control, Ministry of Communications, c/o P'yongyang Central Post Office.
- Outside P'yongyang: The newspaper distribution center in each province; or the newspaper section in city and county post offices.[4]

The exchange was to be delivered by October 1955.[5]
